Slam Dunk

Here are a few portraits of 8 year old Ava. Ava is about to be baptized so her mom wanted me to photograph her to commemorate the event. I had a great time with this little girl. She has such  great personality! She started to speak in a Britishesque accent so I played with her and said in my own (terrible) British accent, “Oh are you from Yorkshire?” and without skipping a beat she kept the joke running and we started having a funny discussion in our (again, terrible) British accents. Ava has quite the wit!

Congratulations, Ava!

Quite the challenge…

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was super busy taking a lot of great portraits of some great clients! One of which was this great family. This was quite a challenging session. Why? Well I’ll tell you. Gather around, folks and I’ll tell you a tale. It is a tale, a tale of a man and a monster! Whoops! Sorry about that, I’m listening to the first song from Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame on Itunes! Where was I? Oh yes! The challenge of this session was simply that it was taken in the dark! I had to shine my flashlight on their faces to give me something to focus on and then coax their silhouettes for expressions. Luckily, I had great subjects! This was my favorite portrait from the session. Enjoy!
